this just resonated with me and all i have to say is, "God placed us on this journey, so, regardless of the voices in our heads, we'll definitely win, Edima.!β€οΈ
You mentioned thanking God. Are you really a believer is what I'm wondering π€. Not to be rude or anything like that, it's more like a concern over your remarks. I'm just curious really. I've been a Christian all my life and I can tell you there are only 2 kinds of happiness, the kind that comes from a positive attitude, like you described, that is actually more about circumstance-- up when things are going well, down when they don't.....
But, through experience I can promise you that if you follow Jesus and put Him as King and Ruler over your life, you will come to find a joy that doesn't even make sense, because you can have it even when things aren't going so well in your life. Its a joy that comes from abiding in True peace. There are a ton of verses that describe this stunning fact in God's Word, like this one in
Philippians 4:7--
"and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
And this one in Psalm 16:11--
"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fulness if joy: At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
i'm a believer and i understand fully well that Jesus gives joy and peace that passes understanding. i'm sure God let that conversation happen so that I'd get out of my head and appreciate the things happening around me. thank you Linzy β¨
Well spoken, Edima. The tension of always wanting something more is often uncomfortable but in itself holds a beauty. Keep pushing yourself into uncomfortable spaces and you will learn so so much. And please, keep writing on Substack!
Glad you didn't give up on Substack, enjoyed your post. Guess what you are human, an emotional creature with ups and downs and hopes and dreams. You are wonderfully you, don't stop dreaming but as you do, write it down, don't second guess just live and see what wonderfulness you create.
I low-key used to wish I had a quieter life sometimes, and I'd look at people like you and others who weren't very active on the media and say to myself - I share too much, other people share few things and I would feel somehow about it. Reading this made me shocked, to be honest.
With regards school, last year I wanted to relate to school stress so bad. All my friends were in school and I was the odd one out. It was weird, mhen! Just so you know, no one has it all, we should be grateful for what we have.
